डिजिटल डेस्क, नैरोबी। केन्या ने एक करोड़ से अधिक लोगों को कोरोना का टीका लगाकर 2021 के अंत से पहले निर्धारित लक्ष्य को हासिल कर लिया है। ये जानकारी केन्या के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने दी।
स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के कैबिनेट सचिव मुताही कागवे ने शुक्रवार को एक बयान में कहा कि 1 करोड़ लोगों में से 58 लाख वयस्क हैं जिन्हें आंशिक रूप से टीका लगाया गया है, जबकि 41.6 लाख लोगों ने दो खुराकें ली है।
कागवे ने कहा, 15 से 18 साल के बीच के लोगों को 20,121 वैक्सीन की खुराक दी गई है, जिसमें 5,280 बूस्टर खुराक शामिल हैं।
अधिकारी ने कहा कि पूरी तरह से टीका लगाए गए वयस्कों का अनुपात अब 15.3 प्रतिशत है और सरकार 2.7 करोड़ लोगों के अपने लक्ष्य का टीकाकरण करने के लिए काम कर रही है।
समाचार एजेंसी सिन्हुआ की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, कैबिनेट सचिव ने कहा कि देश में कोरोना पॉजिटिव के 295,028 मामले हैं, जबकि गुरुवार तक लिए गए 9,384 सैंपल से 2,791 और मामले सामने आए हैं।
कोरोना के खिलाफ 1 करोड़ लोगों का टीकाकरण ऐसे समय में हुआ है जब पूर्वी अफ्रीकी देश में ओमिक्रॉन वेरिएंट के कारण मामलों में तेजी आई है।
राष्ट्रपति उहुरू केन्याटा ने पहले शुक्रवार को घोषणा की है कि 1 जनवरी, 2022 से सरकार लोगों को बूस्टर खुराक देना शुरू करेगी।
